Breakfast: Banana Mango Ginger Smoothie

Contrary to popular belief, one does not starve on a spa visit. Breakfast is essential to stave off mid morning hunger pangs. Case in point, during the Spa Party at The Beverly Wilshire Hotel, we were served mango smoothie shots. It was so good we had to share our version.

Recipe via My Recipes. But spice it up with 1 Teaspoon of ground ginger root. Ingredients:

1 cup cubed peeled ripe mango (freeze night before)
3/4 cup sliced ripe banana (about 1 medium)
2/3 cup fat-free milk
1 tablespoon nonfat dry milk (optional)
1 teaspoon honey
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Arrange the mango cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet; freeze until firm (about
1 hour). Place frozen mango and the remaining ingredients in a blender. Process
until smooth.
