Give me a S-P-A! What does that spell? One key to feeling spa-wesome at home is to rock that body and have fun doing it! So in honor of the Superbowl we’re bringing you a retro glamorous Cheer styled workout!
Now I was a non-cheerleader in school (though I tried), so I was intrigued when I discovered dvds that either were full on cheer or cheer inspired workouts. Lucky for you I tried nearly every cheerleading dvd out there – some made me go rah rah rah and some make me go blah blah blah. Give me a Rah for these! Try one or two and let me know how you like them!
If you are really serious about learning how to cheer properly (in addition or instead of as a workout) check out Cheer! It covers all the basics, and is also a great light workout if you’re just getting back into exercising.
I don’t about you, but I have a tough time getting motivated to work out to some of the muzak featured on many at home dvds. This is one of Train2Cheer’s perks! The Black Eyed Peas, RuPaul and Miley Cyrus. It is a fast-paced cheerfest, but hey you’re working out alone, you’ll get it! And you will be shaking up your whole body – a blast!
I’ll just say, I’m not a fan of all of the Dallas Cowboy cheerleader workout dvds. I find most of them not energetic enough and a bit boring. But The Power Squad is a muscle toner with some unique moves – I like to mix it up with more aerobic workouts like Train2Cheer.
We can’t forget the Pom Poms! Whatever I’m doing, it’s not near as much fun without the props. AND did you know holding pom poms makes your arms work harder? So bring on the Pom Poms:
